So today, I sat down with my sister, Samantha, over a nice cup of hot chai from Starbucks. As we talked and reminisced, I decided to use her for my English project. I wanted to interview her because, she has been working at Disneyland for six months now and she is also two months pregnant.
This is a random question, but what is your favorite movie, and why?
"Well, I guess I would have to say 'The Lion King.' Though I like 'Beauty and the Beast' too, but 'The Lion King' because it never gets old.
Who would would you say you depend on the most?
"Mom. Definitely momma. That is exactly why I moved back here."
What is it like to be working backstage at Disneyland for the cast members?
"Strange. You would never expect to see the people in the costumes. Especially cause I have seen Mickey with his head off and Tinker Bell curse. It was so funny!"
What is one benefit about working there?
"My 365 day pass and I get really good discounts at most of the stores."
Disneyland is "The Happiest Place on Earth." Why do you think so?
"It seems like every time I actually go to the park, the magic is just...amazing! I feel like a little kid going for the first time." She brushes her hand through her hair. "People say the 'magic' is just propaganda, but it really isn't"
What are you excited about for your child?
"Oh jeez! Well after years of hate in our family,we are closer than before. Besides the fact of mom and dad being divorced, we are like never before."
Once I was finished with my interview, we met up with our brother, Josh, his wife, and our nephews. It was a nice evening.
Nice to see the positive side of Disney.
ReplyDeleteEvery time I go to Downtown Disney in the evening I see all kinds of frowning, stressed out parents with screaming kids. Maybe I should catch them at the beginning of the day instead.
